On 15 September at 16:30 on the Inspiration Hubs stage, the German Hobby Brewers' Champion will be announced for the sixth time. After five events in the Störtebeker Brauquartier in Stralsund, the 2022 championship takes place at the drinktec. With over 160 participants, it is the largest competition for home and hobby brewers in German-speaking countries.
At the German Championship exhibition stand you will have the opportunity to inform about the event and to exchange ideas with homebrewers and experts from the beer scene. In addition, the winning beers of the past championship as well as a collaboration-brew of all previous winners can be tasted. On Wednesday and Thursday, the 10 best beers of the creative beer festival from May 2022 will also be served and you can help decide who wins the trophy for the best creative beer.
The official beer style in the competition for the German Championship of Homebrewers this year is the Chocolate Stout. All beers are tasted by an expert jury in the Störtebeker Braumanufaktur and the best make it to the final at drinktec. The decisive jury meeting with experts from the brewing industry will take place there on September 13th.
On September 15 at 16:30 on the Inpiration Hubs stage in Hall C6, the 6th German champion of homebrewers will be announced. In addition to the presentation of the trophy and a grand appearance at drinktec, the winner can look forward to a brewing day in the Störtebeker Braumanufaktur, where the winning beer will be brewed on a large scale. Another highlight is the announcement of the best creative beer. There are no limits to the participants and exciting creations can be discovered every year.
