Premieres, tasting sessions, competitions and presentations: Everyone will get their money’s worth in the supporting program of this year’s drinktec, which will take place from September 12 to 16 on the Messe München exhibition grounds. The main feature is its unique combination of specialist presentations and discussions on the one side, and the live programs, competitions and championships on the other.
This year the “Inspiration Hubs” will celebrate their premiere in Halls A3 and C6 at the world’s leading trade fair for the beverage and liquid food industry. Here, for the first time, exhibitors will have the opportunity to hold presentations in the form of “best practice sharing” and “learnings” through discussions with the community.
In addition to the “Inspiration Hubs,” this year will also play host to another premiere, namely the newly integrated Start-up Platform. In collaboration with the Drink Innovation Campus (DICA), young companies can present their creative and innovative ideas here for the first time. A comprehensive supporting program with pitches, networking events and co-creation workshops offers many opportunities to present oneself to an international specialist audience.
This year, as in previous events, the World Championship for Beer Sommeliers will take place on the day before the opening of the trade fair, September 11, in Conference Center Nord. Further highlights include the European Beer Star, the winner of which will be honored during drinktec on Wednesday, September 14 and celebrated on the Evening of Champions, and the German Championship of Hobby Brewers, whose winner will be presented and honored on September 15 at 4:30 p.m.
But what would a trade fair like drinktec be without having an expert tasting session? “New Beverage Concepts” offers the opportunity to do so with the sampling of new recipes or ingredients. Meanwhile, at “place2beer,” trade fair participants can meet for a casual conversation and at the same time – as the name suggests – sample a beer or other beverage, or even cooking oils.
oils+fats will take place as a “trade fair within a trade fair” alongside drinktec. The special show benefits from the comprehensive offering of filling and packaging technology from the world-leading trade fair drinktec, and is designated as a special area in Hall C3. On September 16, in the course of oils+fats, the Oilseed Forum will focus on the question, “What conditions determine the future sales growth and perspectives of oilseed cultivation?”
