Packing, palletising and conveying systems at the very highest level

BMS Maschinenfabrik GmbH is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Since 1992 BMS has stood for situation-dependent flexible solutions, top product quality “Made in Germany” and an all-encompassing service for packing, palletising and conveyor equipment for the beverage, dairy and food industry. “Our customers value our dynamic concepts and systems that are perfectly tailored to their individual needs“, comments Thomas Lehmann, CEO of BMS. “In this process we focus on the current market demands and are able to provide an all-round service that ensures highest possible functionality and a long service life of the machines.“

A quarter of a century ago Reinhard Mühlbauer started to plan and make chamber pasteurizers and packing machines on the premises of his parents in law. This equipment was designed to automate the packaging and palletising of differently sized containers. The goal was to make the process faster, more efficient, with an increased capacity, while also ensuring a smooth-running operation. In 1992 the Brauerei Maschinen Services BMS was founded as a one-man business in Pfatter, Bavaria. The first employees were hired four years later. This was followed by the development of a highly automated packing machine that still today stands for the renowned BMS quality. This machine already featured such an exceptional quality that it only underwent marginal further development: the “UNIPACK 100“. Shortly after this, the company celebrated the launch of its portal-type “UNIPAL Palettiser“. “We were one of the first on the market” Lehmann explains. A portal-type palletiser – it was a major breakthrough!” In 2004 the first “one-stop-shop” complete dry part of a bottling line was delivered. Lehmann: “Development, production, delivery, installation, commissioning – all done through us, and this is what we still do. In addition to this, the customer can also rely on our maintenance and conversion services.”

A basic workforce of some 100 skilled and motivated employees

Today BMS Maschinenfabrik GmbH still runs its production works in Pfatter – the floor area has increased in size and the company now operates with a workforce of approximately 100 people. “We feel particularly connected to our staff and to the region. We see this commitment and our innovative strength as the basis of our success”, says Lehmann. “And we will continue to attach utmost importance to environmentally sustainable, state-of-the-art and innovative actions in the future as well.“
