Drinking water is a scarce resource in many regions of the world. There, water of different origins must be treated in order to achieve drinking water quality and to guarantee the health and safety of consumers. The beverage industry must therefore optimize the use of drinking water and consistently develop drinking water treatment and strengthen water recycling measures for the wastewater stream.
